President Donald Trump is planning to cut nearly 1,300 Education Department employees, about half of its total staff, with an ultimate goal of shutting down the agency completely. About 3,000 people work in the department's headquarters in Washington, and roughly 1,000 are in 10 regional offices. A union representing the staff said the cuts could affect financial aid for college, children's rights in school being enforced and more areas. |

Retired NBA legend Dwyane Wade shared in an exclusive interview on TODAY how telling his doctor he was experiencing lingering stomach pain and issues with urination led to a diagnosis of kidney cancer. He also shared how he processed the news. "I remember telling myself, if I do come out of this, you know how I'm going to approach life, how I'm going approach every day ... I'm going to live for the 24 hours," Wade said. |
