| Today's workout is a 5-minute stretch.
Need a little help getting off the couch today? Try a nice stretch like the lying figure four. Lying down on your back, bend the knees and place the feet flat on the floor. Cross your right ankle over your left thigh. Grab your left hamstring with both hands, and pull the left leg in toward your chest. Flex the right foot and feel a stretch in the right glute. Hold for 3 breaths, and then switch sides. Then move on to the next exercise in the challenge.

Can walking really help you lose weight? Experts explain |
Walking for weight loss is effective and has many benefits, including reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke. Even a few thousand steps a day can help you shed pounds if you're consistent. Registered dietitian Samantha Cassetty explains that "the average 40-year-old woman who's 5 foot 4 inches and 165 pounds might lose 5 pounds in two months if she went from inactive to walking for an hour five times a week."
But you can't walk off a bad diet, Cassetty says. "She would have to make some healthy tweaks to her diet, which result in a slight calorie deficit (around 100 calories a day)."
Read on to learn how to create a walking routine for weight loss. |
