| Former President Donald Trump announced yesterday that he has selected Ohio Sen. JD Vance, 39, a former Trump critic turned staunch supporter, as his vice presidential running mate on the Republican ticket. Trump also made an appearance with a bandaged right ear at last night's Republican National Convention, two days after a shooter tried to assassinate him at a rally. Earlier in the day, U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon dismissed the classified documents case in Florida involving Trump. Following the ruling, Trump called for all the cases and previous rulings against him to be dismissed in a post on his Truth Social platform. Here's the latest. |

Beth Kitchin, 60, has had a longtime healthy routine as an avid runner and registered dietitian, so when she felt nagging pain on the inside of her left thigh in 2020 she figured it was just an exercise injury or inflammation. An MRI revealed she had tumors in both of her legs that turned out to be acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She endured powerfully toxic "red devil" chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant, and an arduous recovery, but is back exercising again. "I have this new vigilance about things that I never thought I would have to be vigilant about," she told TODAY.com. Continue reading. |

| Grammy-nominated artist Ingrid Andress didn't exactly hit her national anthem rendition out of the park at last night's MLB Home Run Derby in Texas. Andress' a cappella version of "The Star-Spangled Banner" had fans recalling Fergie's disastrous anthem at the 2018 NBA All-Star game. "I'm so sorry, I'm sure Ingrid Andress is a wonderful person, but that was one of the worst national anthems I think I've ever heard in my whole life," one X user wrote. See the performance. |

| If you ask a Gen Z employee to edit a video for your business, you'd better have a good sense of humor. North Carolina realtor Mike Hege gave it a try, and his 27-year-old marketing manager responded with a montage of all the times he paused to take a breath or fiddle with his hair while giving tours of homes. The playful video, which got nearly 4 million views in four days, followed a TikTok trend of Gen Z employees giving funny edits to clips of their employers talking. "This was the editor's way of showcasing that we're real people and that we can have fun and be on the lighter side," Hege told TODAY.com. See the video. |
