President Joe Biden called on Americans to "lower the temperature" of political rhetoric in an address from the Oval Office last night in the wake of the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. "While we may disagree, we are not enemies," Biden said. Trump, who is in Milwaukee for this week's Republican National Convention, said he was grateful to the Secret Service. "I'm not supposed to be here, I'm supposed to be dead," he told the New York Post yesterday. Meanwhile, the rooftop where a gunman shot at Trump during a campaign rally was identified by the Secret Service as a potential vulnerability in the days before the event, two sources told NBC News.
