Seven of the 12 jurors for Donald Trump's hush money trial were selected yesterday. Plus, frustration over Caitlin Clark's WNBA salary, the benefits of eating carrots over drinking carrot juice, and the "SNL" skit that made one of its stars break character.
Many fans of the former University of Iowa basketball star, including TODAY's Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, expressed surprise that Caitlin Clark would earn $338,000 over a four-year contract after being drafted No. 1 overall by the Indiana Fever Monday. (She already makes much more in endorsements.) Comparatively, the No. 1 pick in last year's NBA draft received a four-year, $55 million contract. "The gap is so jarring," Jenna said. We spoke to an expert about why the discrepancy is so large and how Clark's entrance into the league could help raise WNBA salaries after 2025.

A little pick-me-up before you go.
You know an "SNL" sketch is an instant classic when the normally unflappable Heidi Gardner breaks character and busts out laughing in the middle of it. The now-viral sketch featured Gardner as a TV interviewer whose subject is clearly distracted by two men in the audience who look like Beavis and Butt-Head. Yesterday, Gardner spoke out about what made her crack up, and the audience's reaction. See the clip here.
