The Kansas Chiefs slipped past by the San Francisco 49ers, 25-22, to win the Super Bowl last night, their third title in five years, in only the second Super Bowl to go into overtime. Patrick Mahomes was named MVP for the third time in his career, tying him for second place with most all-time behind Tom Brady. The game also featured an epic Usher halftime performance and marked the first time a team has won back-to-back Super Bowls since the 2004 season. And, yes, Taylor Swift was there, a few of the ads were hits, there was some off-field drama, a Beyoncé announcement and more. |

A child and a man were injured after a woman who opened fire at Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church in Houston on Sunday, police said. The child was listed in critical condition, while the man suffered an injury to his leg. The shooter walked into the church with a child police say was about 5 years old and started shooting with a long rifle she was carrying. Two off-duty officers who were at the church returned fire and the woman was killed. The woman's identity has not been made public, although police say she was in her 30s. Police are also looking into a possible motive. Here's the latest. |
