University of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill resigned from her post over the weekend after facing intense criticism from the White House, lawmakers and alumni for her response to a question about campus antisemitism during a congressional hearing. Her resignation came after she had an exchange with Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York, who asked Magill —and the presidents of Harvard and MIT — whether "calling for the genocide of Jews" would violate their code of conduct. Magill responded by saying it would be "context-dependent." Stefanik celebrated Magill's resignation while referring to the Harvard and MIT presidents. "One down. Two to go," she wrote on X. Here's the latest. |

Former "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "American Pie" star Alyson Hannigan, 49, showed her physical transformation during the course of finishing fifth on the latest season of "Dancing With The Stars". Hannigan shared a pair of side-by-side photos on Instagram showing a promotional shot from before the season and one of her from the show's finale last week. "The before and after says it all," she wrote. "I lost 20 pounds of both weight and emotional baggage during my time on @dancingwiththestars. I've learned that I am capable of doing things that I've told myself my whole life that I'm not capable of doing." See the photos here. |

A little pick-me-up before you go. |
A British mom found herself caught in her own personal episode of "Are you smarter than a first grader?" Laura Rathbone was stumped when her 6-year-old daughter, Lilly-Mo, had a homework assignment that asked, "Which word is the odd one out?" The choices were: friend, toothbrush, silver, desk and egg. Rathbone posted the brainteaser on Facebook. "At first I thought I was losing my mind. I was like, 'What am I missing here?'" she told TODAY.com. "Everybody had different theories, and it was quite interesting!" She eventually contacted Lilly-Mo's teacher to find the solution. Still racking your brain? See the answer here. |
