Sam Bankman-Fried, once hailed as a genius in cryptocurrency, was found guilty yesterday of seven counts of fraud after his exchange, FTX, collapsed in 2022 and financially wiped out thousands of customers. Bankman-Fried "perpetrated one of the biggest financial frauds in American history," Damian Williams, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, said after the verdict. Forbes had once estimated that Bankman-Fried's stakes in Alameda and FTX were worth $26 billion. He now faces up to 110 years in prison when he is sentenced in March. Here's the latest. |

Jason and Alecia Patranella had struggled with their weight for years when they reached a breaking point at a Houston Astros game last year. Alecia, who weighed 294 pounds at 5-foot-7, went to the bathroom and had a hard time getting into the stall. "It was humiliating and it really broke me," she told TODAY.com.
