Henry Kissinger, who served as secretary of state and national security adviser under Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, died yesterday at 100. Kissinger was seen as one of the leading diplomats and international relations intellectuals of the 20th century, but also was reviled by his critics as as a war criminal for his key role in widening the American presence in Vietnam and the U.S. bombing of Cambodia. He won the Nobel Peace Prize for negotiating the settlement that ended the Vietnam War, and also opened diplomatic relations between the U.S. and China during the Nixon administration in the early 1970s. Hall & Oates are going "One on One" in court, as Daryl Hall accused longtime musical partner John Oates of committing a "betrayal" by planning to sell his share of the duo's joint venture without Hall's permission, Hall said in a court declaration filed yesterday. Hall also lamented the deterioration of their relationship after 50 years of working together, while Oates said in his own court filing yesterday that he was disappointed in Hall's "inflammatory, outlandish, and inaccurate statements about me."
