Israel and Hamas indicated openness to extend the cease-fire in Gaza.

Israel and Hamas have indicated their openness to extend the current pause in fighting in Gaza, as the four-day cease-fire is set to come to an end tomorrow. An extension could see more hostages released from Gaza in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. Israel has said it would extend the cease-fire by a day for every 10 additional hostages released. The negotiations come after Hamas released 17 hostages on Sunday, and in exchange, Israel released 39 Palestinian prisoners, all of whom are minors, a Qatari spokesman said. Read the latest here.

A suspect was arrested in the shooting of 3 U.S. students of Palestinian descent in Vermont.

Police have arrested a 48-year-old man in connection with the shooting of three U.S. students of Palestinian descent in Vermont on Saturday, officials said. Jason J. Eaton was detained on Sunday near the scene of the shooting after a search of his property "gave investigators and prosecutors probable cause to believe that Mr. Eaton perpetrated the shooting," Burlington police said. Hisham Awartani, a student at Brown University, Kinnan Abdalhamid, a student at Haverford University, and Tahseen Ahmed, a student at Trinity College, are recovering in area hospitals after Eaton allegedly walked up and, without speaking, opened fire. The FBI said it is investigating the incident.

Meet Stache, the winner of the 2023 National Dog Show! The Sealyham terrier was awarded this year's best in show at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pennsylvania. The pup bested a group that also included a German shepherd, a Great Dane, a Dalmatian, a Chesapeake Bay retriever, an Azawakh and a Shih Tzu to take home the $20,000 prize. "He just gave a wonderful performance," the dog's handler, Margery Good, said.
