Former President Donald Trump pleaded not guilty Thursday in Washington, D.C., to charges that he engaged in criminal conspiracies with the intention of overturning the 2020 presidential election to remain the commander in chief. Trump, who became the first former president in history to face criminal charges, was arraigned on an indictment charging him with conspiracy to defraud the United States; conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding; obstruction; and conspiracy against the right to vote and to have one's vote counted. He's been indicted in three different cases over the past four months. After his hearing, Trump, who has denied wrongdoing, told reporters "this is a very sad day for America." |

Cardi B will not face criminal charges for throwing her microphone at a fan who attended one of her concerts and threw a drink at the rapper while she was onstage in Las Vegas. "After a thorough review of this case and with the consultation from the Clark County District Attorney's Office, this case has been closed as having insufficient evidence," the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement to TODAY.com on Thursday. Video on social media captured the incident and police told NBC News that an unidentified woman had filed a battery report for getting hit by an object "thrown from the stage." Cardi B is the latest artist to get hit while performing, joining such names as Harry Styles, Bebe Rexha and Kelsea Ballerini. |

Peloton instructor Selena Samuela, who is seven months postpartum, is embracing her mom pouch — the area where she carried her baby — while encouraging other mothers to accept their own bodies after giving birth. She says she's gotten messages about how she's lost the pouch, which she finds unfortunate. "We are not clones of each other, we are not all built the same way, not any of us will have the same experience while pregnant or postpartum, there are infinite variables that will assure that," she wrote on Instagram, while noting she's aware she may work out more than other people. She said she feels a responsibility to her "fellow mamas to be transparent." "I know I don't have to do it, but I want to," she added. "Because I want you to know that I see you." Read more here. |

Snacks may be the lifeblood of your day – a way to give you a jolt between meals. But not all snacks are created equally, so it's vital to know which ones are good for your body and which ones are just plain unhealthy. Cardiologists point to nuts as a smart option because they contain protein, healthy fat, fiber and antioxidants, and are filling. Fruit also gets a thumbs-up for its fiber content, while pretzels, chips, cookies and candy bars are a no-no, thanks to being highly processed and full of sugar. See the list of other healthy snack options here. |

A little pick-me-up before you go. |
Airline travel can test the most patient of people, but one little girl made the best out of a bad situation by giving her fellow travelers a reason to smile. Desiree Stearns' now 11-month-old daughter, Julianna, greeted passengers on their flight from Chicago to Orlando last month after they boarded following a three-hour delay. The adorable clip has racked up 4 million views on TikTok. "All of a sudden, out of nowhere, she just started saying 'hi' to people," Stearns told TODAY.com. "I wasn't even recording at first, but she just kept doing it so I took my phone out." Stearns said she never thought about the clip going viral, either. "I ultimately took that video just because I thought it was so cute," she said. |
