Amid an uptick in COVID-19 cases this summer, a new COVID subvariant called EG.5, also referred to as Eris, has become the dominant strain in the United States, according to the CDC. Eris is likely more transmissible than other XBB variants of omicron, the chief of the division of pediatric infectious diseases at Stony Brook Children's Hospital told TODAY.com. The data available do not indicate that EG.5 causes a more severe infection compared to other variants, experts said. While there isn't enough clinical data about the most common symptoms of EG.5 yet, they look similar to the standard omicron symptoms, one doctor said. A little pick-me-up before you go. |
The "TRL" is strong in this one. Carson Daly's son, Jackson, looked as polished as his dad interviewing music stars back in his MTV days when he recently sat down with LL Cool J for an episode of "NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt: Kids Edition."
