The charges came after a group of white men were seen attacking a Black dockworker at the Montgomery Riverfront on Aug. 5. Asked whether the situation constituted a hate crime, Montgomery Police Chief Darryl Albert said at a news conference that "based on the elements of this crime, those elements did not exist." The popular obesity drug Wegovy may be the first of its type to do more than just help people shed pounds, according to results released by the company that makes it. One obesity medicine specialist told NBC News that the results may be compelling enough to get insurance companies to cover the cost of Wegovy, which currently can be more than $1,300 a month. The findings were based on a late-stage clinical trial of more than 17,000 adults ages 45 and up who got a 2.4-milligram dose of Wegovy or a placebo in addition to standard care. Read more here. |
