New charges filed yesterday in the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump allege he was part of a scheme to delete security video and that a property manager at his Mar-a-Lago residence told another employee "the boss" wanted the server deleted. The employee, Carlos de Oliveira, was charged yesterday. The indictment lays out what federal authorities say was a scheme to obstruct the ongoing investigation into Trump's post-presidency handling of classified documents. "I don't want anybody looking, I don't want anybody looking through my boxes, I really don't," Trump told his lawyer in May 2022, according to the indictment. Trump has pleaded not guilty, and a trial is set for May 2024. Here's the latest. |

LeBron James' family expressed their gratitude yesterday after Bronny James, 18, was discharged from the hospital in Los Angeles three days after suffering cardiac arrest. Bronny was "fully conscious, neurologically intact and stable" when he arrived at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after collapsing during a workout for the USC basketball team, hospital officials said. He is now recovering at home. LeBron also shared a message thanking everyone who sent well wishes to his family and saying everyone is "doing great." James' statement did not mention his son's basketball future, but added, "Will have more to say when we're ready but I wanted to tell everyone how much your support has meant to all of us!" |

A viral video from earlier this month showed a panicked father smashing the windshield of a locked car to rescue his baby on a 100-degree day in Harlingen, Texas. Sgt. Larry Moore of the Harlingen Police Department told TODAY.com the incident was a close call, and urged everyone to slow down their daily routines, keep their car keys on-hand and check the backseat of their vehicles before walking away. If a child is locked in a car, you must act quickly, as the temperature can spike in the first 10 minutes. Call the police, break a window if possible and alert bystanders if you need help. As remembrances of Sinéad O'Connor poured in following her death at 56, Pink and Brandi Carlile paid tribute to the Irish singer with an emotional duet of her biggest hit. Carlile joined Pink onstage at a concert in Cincinnati for what Pink called a "bittersweet" performance of "Nothing Compares 2 U." The song was originally written by Prince and became a worldwide hit for O'Connor in 1990. Oscar winner Russell Crowe also shared a sweet story of a chance encounter in Ireland with O'Connor, whom he called his "hero." |
