| Today's workout is a 20-minute interval walk.
If you have extra time to cool down with a stretch, give your back some love. Upper back pain is common and can be caused by stress, poor posture or even sleeping wrong. Thread the needle is an ah-mazing stretch that relieves tension in the upper back and shoulders. This is a great one if you're sore from your strength workout yesterday! To perform: - Start in tabletop position with hands directly below your shoulders and knees below your hips.
- Lift your right hand up off the ground, following it with your gaze, as you thread it beneath your left arm.
- Gently rest your head on the ground, looking toward your hand. Hold for 3 breaths and then switch sides.
9 other upper back stretches to soothe sore, achy muscles. |

How to get rid of bloating, according to gastroenterologists |
Bloating is normal and it happens to everyone. However, dealing with it can be unpleasant. It can cause a range of symptoms like abdominal discomfort, pain and swelling.
While you may not be able to prevent bloating entirely, there are ways to relieve the symptoms and avoid making it worse. Bloating is a sensation of fullness or tightness in the abdomen, which is often due to excess gas or fluid in the gastrointestinal tract, says Dr. Anju Malieckal, a board-certified gastroenterologist. This excess gas can be caused by swallowing too much air, he adds. Experts say making these changes to your eating habits can help keep air out of the digestive tract and reduce bloating: - Slow down.
- Avoid talking while eating.
- Eat smaller, more frequent meals.
