A redacted version of the affidavit that helped obtain the search warrant for former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate will be unsealed Friday, after a judge agreed to do so following the Justice Department's proposed redactions. The affidavit explains why the estate was searched by the FBI on Aug. 8. U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart wrote Thursday the department had provided enough reason to redact parts of the affidavit, claiming that not doing so would reveal identities of witnesses and other "uncharged parties" involved. |

Lori McClintock, the wife of California Rep. Tom McClintock died at 61 last year from dehydration due to gastroenteritis caused by "adverse effects of white mulberry leaf ingestion," a coroner's report found. The coroner's office, which ruled the death an accident, found a "partially intact" white mulberry leaf in her stomach. The herbal remedy is generally considered safe and used for ailments like diabetes and high cholesterol. But her death has underscored the risks of the booming dietary supplements industry. "Many people assume if that product is sold in (the U.S.), somebody has inspected it, and it must be safe. Unfortunately, that's not always true," Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin said earlier this year. The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden has published a video of baby hippo Fritz meeting his older sister and the zoo's resident celebrity, Fiona. In one clip, Fritz swims toward his 5-year-old sister, while their mother, Bibi, looks on. "The exposure was brief, but a great first step," said the zoo's director of animal care. Fritz, who was born on Aug. 3, will meet other hippos in separate groups soon, the zoo said. Fiona (you may remember) became a star in 2017 after she was the first hippo born at the zoo in 75 years and beat the odds to survive despite her premature birth. Watch the cute video here. |

Chef Ed Brown, who runs the restaurant Aces on the grounds of the U.S. Open, stopped by TODAY to share one of his signature dishes of the late summer Grand Slam, roasted Faroe Island salmon. Ed uses tomatoes and mint to form a rich pesto to spoon over top of the salmon once it's done. It's so good, you'll want a spoon to sop up the extra. He also shares an important seasoning tip: Don't season the fish too early, or else it might stick to the pan. Check out the full recipe here. |
