The Uvalde school district put embattled police chief Pete Arredondo on administrative leave yesterday after nearly a month of criticism for the delay in the police response to a gunman who killed 21 people, including 19 children. Also, Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin said yesterday that Robb Elementary School will be torn down. Robb would join Connecticut's Sandy Hook Elementary School school, where 20 students and six staffers were killed in 2012, in being demolished following a mass shooting. |

Running coach Ryan Welsh shared with us how he used running to navigate the overwhelming loss of his father to suicide and his mother to cancer in his 20s. Welsh's mother had always been a runner and suggested he give it a try. He went out for a jog at her prompting and discovered a life-changing activity he calls "the greatest gift of my life: the motivation to just get outside and do something. To run." He even met his wife after joining a running club. "It just might change your life," he told us. |

TODAY weatherman Al Roker is one proud dad this week. Al and his wife, Deborah Roberts, celebrated their son Nick's high school graduation on Tuesday. "We are so proud of him, all the work he has done, the people who have helped him along the way," Al told his TODAY co-hosts. "It was a terrific moment."
