Last plane carrying Americans leaves Afghanistan after 20 years of war

The last plane left Afghanistan Monday, completing the evacuation of more than 123,000 people just before Tuesday's deadline. But officials acknowledge they didn't get everyone out who wanted to leave, and there are mounting concerns over what happens next. Lightning kills lifeguard at New Jersey beach; 7 others injured

A young lifeguard was killed and seven people were injured yesterday when lightning struck at Island Beach State Park, about 80 miles south of New York City. Seven people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
