It's summer, which means your grill is getting a workout. What's the best way to keep it clean and ready to go for the next meal?
When you're about to start cooking, cut an onion in half and wipe your grill down with the onion, says Leslie Corona, senior home editor of Real Simple magazine. The moisture is going to wash away a lot of the ash and soot. It also smells "amazing" when you do this, she adds.
After the cooking is done, it's important to clean the grill when it's still hot because the heat is going to loosen the caked-on foods and sauces. After every use, make sure you scrub the grill with a steel brush -- if you do that regularly, it's going to make end-of-season deep cleaning much easier.
