How to stop your favorite sweaters from pilling

The issue with pilling – those unwanted patches of fuzz on clothes -- is that the quality that makes you love a fabric is also the reason that makes it pill, experts say. Cashmere is notorious for pilling; so are delicate cottons and garments like athleisure that have stretch in them.

You may think pills come from washing, but they actually come from wearing and exposure. Sweater razors can help keep pilling at bay. You also can wash cashmere and wool at home — just put it in a mesh bag to reduce abrasion.
