Is it ever safe to use those sample lip balms, eye shadows and blushes at your favorite beauty store?

Walking through the beauty floor of a department store or a Sephora location can be incredibly tempting. All those makeup samples to try! There are different colors, textures, finishes and pigments – it's like walking through a candy store. Who wouldn't want to try out a sample first?

But, after hearing about a scary lawsuit, should we be more careful? Yes, say the dermatologists and makeup artists we spoke to. Before you rush to see how that bronze-y eye shadow will look next to your hazel peepers, you're going to want to read this first. Because as fun as makeup and beauty can be, your health and wellness always comes first.

When it comes to mental health, nothing makes us feel more serene and peaceful than a neat and organized closet. That dream seems slightly easier to achieve during the summer when thin sundresses line up neatly like little soldiers. But chunky sweaters? Forget it.
