More than 900 pages of previously unseen legal documents were unsealed from a lawsuit involving the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein last night. They contain important names, most of them previously reported, but few new details. The documents were part of a civil defamation lawsuit first filed in 2015 against convicted Epstein confidant Ghislaine Maxwell by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who said she was a victim of sex trafficking and abuse. Among the prominent names are Prince Andrew and former Presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, who have all previously denied any accusations of wrongdoing. The late pop star Michael Jackson and magician David Copperfield are also mentioned as having been at Epstein's house in Florida. Copperfield did not immediately return a request for comment from NBC News. Another trove of documents is expected to make the names of more than 150 people public, a spokesman for the court said. Here's the latest. |

A little pick-me-up before you go. |
These two sets of twins share all types of similarities — except for the same birthday. A Connecticut couple and a New Jersey couple each welcomed a set of twins only minutes apart this week, but they were born in different months and years. Seven Morris arrived at 11:59 p.m. on New Year's Eve, while his sister, Souli Morris, joined the party just minutes later, at 12:02 a.m. on New Year's Day. A New Jersey couple said hello to their son Ezra at 11:48 p.m. on Dec. 31, and then welcomed his brother Ezekiel at 12:28 a.m. on Jan. 1. The chances of twins being born in separate years is estimated at one in 2 million, according to a California hospital where it previously occurred. See more photos of the baby twins here. |
