The Duke of Sussex scored a win in his ongoing battle with British newspapers when a judge ruled this morning that his personal cell phone had probably been hacked "to a modest extent" by the Mirror Group, which publishes the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror and Sunday People. Justice Timothy Fancourt found that 15 of 33 news articles submitted by Harry in the trial were the product of tabloids accessing his voicemail and awarded him $180,000 in damages. Fancourt also said phone hacking was "widespread and habitual" over many years at the newspapers, and that senior managers were aware and covered it up. Here's the latest. |

It was a case of bovine intervention on New Jersey Transit yesterday morning. Passengers were doing double takes when an actual bull was on the loose and running down the tracks at Newark Penn Station. There was a 45-minute delay before the animal was ultimately contained in a fenced-off lot without incident. The surreal scene provided some levity on social media. "Me to boss: I'm going to be late bull is on the tracks... boss: o yeah? Did the dog eat your homework too?" one person joked on Instagram. "Ferdinand goes off the rails …" another wrote. A little pick-me-up before you go. |
Shannon McKenna and Kristopher Cowan have waited years to finally go on their honeymoon. For a while, they weren't sure either of them would live long enough to make it. Kris was 23 and getting ready to propose in 2017 when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Shannon cared for him during 16 weeks of treatment, and then they got engaged. However, before they could walk down the aisle, Shannon found a lump that turned out to be breast cancer. They decided on an improvised "crash wedding" in 2021 after Shannon started chemotherapy, and her treatment continued until October of this year. The dual cancer survivors are now looking forward to a honeymoon. "We got to see what the other person went through," Kris told us. "Watching her just made me a stronger person." |
