After being stuck in the mud and on virtual lockdown in the Nevada desert over the weekend, the revelers at this year's Burning Man festival faced an eight-hour wait to get out last night. The organizers said that roughly 64,000 people still remained at the venue yesterday afternoon. The 3,900-acre event in Nevada's Black Rock Desert became such a quagmire over the weekend due to heavy rain that organizers urged people to conserve food and water because the mud made it nearly impossible for vehicles to exit the venue. Some attendees walked more than five miles to reach the nearest passable road, including celebrity DJ Diplo and comedian Chris Rock. Here's the latest. |
