The Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers reached a tentative deal Sunday, potentially bringing an end to one of the longest walkouts in entertainment history. "This was made possible by the enduring solidarity of WGA members and extraordinary support of our union siblings who joined us on the picket lines for over 146 days," the guild said in a statement. The nearly 150-day strike began in May when the guild failed to reach a new contract with the trade association that represents Hollywood's top media studios and streaming services, including TODAY's parent company NBCUniversal. Further details about the deal are set to be released Tuesday, the guild said. Read the latest about the agreement here. |

It's important to note the shot doesn't work right away — it usually takes about 7 to 10 days to kick in. Getting it before the end of October is best so that you're getting vaccinated ahead of flu season, not in the middle of it, experts say. Here's what to know, plus whether it's safe to get a flu shot and the new COVID vaccine at the same time. |
