The search for a missing F-35 stealth fighter jet ended last night when authorities located a debris field in South Carolina. The wreckage of the $80 million aircraft was found about two hours northeast of Joint Base Charleston, the air base that made headlines after putting out a request on social media asking the public's help in locating the jet. The pilot had safely ejected due to a "mishap"on Sunday afternoon, officials said. It remains unclear what caused the pilot to abandon the plane, which was left flying on autopilot, military officials said. Previously, an official told The Washington Post the plane's transponder wasn't working, which made it difficult to track down. Here's the latest. |

Five Americans arrived back on U.S. soil early this morning after years of being wrongfully detained in Iran. The group was freed as part of a prisoner exchange agreement that allowed Iran to access $6 billion in oil revenues frozen under U.S. sanctions and also included five Iranian nationals released from U.S. custody. Utah mom Amber Wright thought a celebratory photo with her son after an emotional high school football game was a cute moment to share. Some commenters on her Instagram had other ideas after seeing Wright, 38, with her legs up around her 16-year-old son Brixton's waist after his team's win. "It appears you're straddling your son. You're also dressed pretty sexy for a high school football game," one wrote. Wright said the reaction has been upsetting. "I was a proud mom hugging her kid," she told TODAY.com. "I never expected it to turn into something where people are like, 'You're sexually abusing him! You're grooming him!" The game also marked the first time Brixton wore a No. 44 jersey in memory of his father, who died on April 4. "He was feeling emotional, and I think as his mom, I'm his safe space," she said. Do you think the hug was appropriate? Weigh in here. |
