Russia launched missile attacks at Ukraine's capital and other cities this morning in a wave of strikes against civilians and infrastructure not seen since early in the war, in apparent revenge for a blast that damaged a key bridge between Russia and Crimea over the weekend. At least 8 people were killed and 24 others were injured in attacks on the capital of Kyiv, Ukrainian officials said. The attacks came hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin accused Ukraine of "terrorism" following the bridge explosion. |

Herschel Walker, the Republican Senate candidate in Georgia, is denying accusations he paid for an abortion for an ex-girlfriend in 2009 after newly revealed text messages between the woman and Walker's wife became public. In the texts sent on Friday, the woman, who is the mother of one of Herschel Walker's four children, wrote to Julie Walker that Herschel Walker tried to pressure her to abort their now-10-year-old son. "Did you know Herschel paid for my abortion the first time?" the woman wrote. Walker, who has campaigned as an anti-abortion candidate, told NBC News this was the first he'd heard of any abortion claims. "I have nothing to hide," he said. For more, go here. |

Seven years ago, Mackenzie Udani, 21, and Fiachra Schusterovi, 20, were randomly paired up on the online chat service Omegle, which led to them becoming pen pals. Mackenzie was in Chicago, while Fiachra was in Sligo, Ireland, and they spent years writing each other letters and striking up a close friendship over the phone. The two finally met in person this year when Mackenzie flew to Dublin for an 11-day trip in July, and they fell in love.
