Members of a church congregation may have saved lives when they hogtied a shooting suspect with electrical cords to subdue him after the man allegedly killed one person and wounded five others in a shooting Sunday at a Taiwanese church in Laguna Woods, police said. Officials said around 40 people were at the church when the suspect, whom law enforcement sources described to NBC News as an Asian man in his 60s, opened fire during a luncheon honoring a former pastor. |

A three-day search for a Texas woman who had recently been diagnosed with dementia ended in relief thanks to Max, her trusty black Labrador. Max's barking alerted a search team to Sherry Noppe's whereabouts in a wooded area with wild hogs and snakes. They found her just in time, as she was suffering from dehydration and cuts on her body. "We feel like he was awake out there the entire time for three days — wide awake, protecting her," her daughter told us. Atta boy, Max! |
