The Dow Jones Industrial Average plummeted 1,120 points Thursday, losing 3.3%, in the market's worst day since 2020. Large tech stocks like Meta Platforms, Amazon and Microsoft took a tumble along with Etsy and Tesla. Experts recommend investors stay calm through volatility, reduce debt and have emergency savings ready. "Typically doing nothing is the best trade you can make," CNBC co-anchor Andrew Ross Sorkin told us. "The next several months are going to be very, very bumpy."

⚖️ Amber Heard details alleged violent assault by Johnny Depp involving a broken bottle and choking.

Heard took the stand for more than two hours Thursday in the defamation trial brought by ex-husband Johnny Depp, breaking down in tears as she detailed alleged violent encounters in which he head-butted, choked, punched and assaulted her with a bottle. "I thought, 'This is how I die. He's going to kill me now,'" she told the jury. Depp has denied the allegations, telling the court earlier in the trial that he has never hit a woman.

A son shares his quest to fix his mother's grave after a stunning discovery.

Ahead of Mother's Day on Sunday, TODAY producer Jared Crawford shared the emotional journey involving his mother's gravesite after being stunned to find that it was unmarked. Crawford, whose mother died of spinal cancer when he was 9, shared the heart-wrenching experience of how he worked for months to finally get her name chiseled onto her gravestone. The impact of seeing it in person on the 30th anniversary of her funeral brought him to tears as he felt "pride and peace."

Our TODAY taco expert, Savannah Guthrie's 7-year-old daughter, Vale, had her list of ingredients handy in case mom or dad felt like making her dream of the perfect taco come true. All you need is a "torlia," some "chiken," and some "gwak" and you're almost there. Throw in some white rice and mild tomato salsa, and you've achieved taco nirvana (at least in the Guthrie house).
