We are in the midst of "the most important outbreak of monkeypox in the Western Hemisphere," an epidemiology professor told NBC News in the wake of the first reported U.S. case found this year. New cases of the illness, which is primarily found in Africa, have also been reported in multiple Western European countries. Health officials are also investigating a possible case in New York City. The illness produces flu-like symptoms and a rash similar to chickenpox, syphilis or herpes. Even the snacks on top of the refrigerator aren't unreachable for this sky-scraping Great Dane. That's Zeus, the world's tallest dog, according to Guinness World Records. The very tall boy is 3 feet, 5.18 inches and stands more than 7 feet tall when he gets up on his hind legs. The giant dog, who eats 12 cups of food a day and drinks out of the sink, is actually a big sweetheart. "He thinks he's a lap dog and can sit in your lap or lean on you and not knock you over," owner Brittany Davis told us. "But I just love his personality. He's a good boy." |
