Moviegoers had the need for speed over the holiday weekend, as the highly anticipated sequel to "Top Gun" had the biggest Memorial Day opening weekend in history with $156 million in domestic gross in its first four days. The film passed 2007's "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" and also became the biggest domestic launch of any film in Tom Cruise's career. The massive opening has the movie theater industry hoping for a rebound, as total domestic box office trails what it was at this point in 2019 by 41%.

Keep the summer vibe going after Memorial Day with these grilled pork spareribs from pitmaster Kevin Bludso, who showed us how to bring the flavor on a regular charcoal grill if you don't have a smoker. If spareribs aren't your thing, check out Bludso's whole grilled chicken with a tasty rub or the barbecue brisket he learned from watching his grandmother as a kid. And don't be afraid to get your hands in there to mix up his delicious potato salad. |

The senior class in a rural Montana town pranked their principal on the horses they rode in on at Conrad High School. Raymond DeBruycker couldn't help but laugh when a dozen seniors rode to school on their horses and cited an old Montana transportation law that states if a student rides a horse to school, the principal has to tend to the horse all day. DeBruycker was later pictured tying up the horses along the fence. "I was joking to my transportation director that between fuel prices and the shortage of bus drivers, maybe we should start encouraging them to come to school on horseback," DeBruycker told us. |
