For anyone who's not a fan of traditional floss, floss picks can be a good alternative. But the non-recyclable plastic picks aren't exactly great for the environment. Thankfully, on our quest to find sustainable swaps that we can actually commit to, one of our editors started using a reusable alternative to the disposable picks — and she hasn't looked back since. When associate editor Emma Stessman first saw Quip's Refillable Floss Pick, she was impressed with the stylish metallic color options and chic carrying case (it even has a mirror inside). Aside from its appearance though, she really loved the $15 pick's thick, grippable handle, and the fact that the floss "easily slides between your teeth" and "feels gentle on the gums." Plus, she said that the refilling process is "really simple." Per the brand, one floss pod replaces 180 single-use flossers. Even better? The pods are made of recyclable paper, so the product is an all-around great option for anyone hoping to make more sustainable swaps this year. And if you end up getting hooked on the tool like Stessman did, you can sign up to get the $5 refill pods sent to you every three months! |
