The Senate passed legislation last night to reopen the government and end the longest shutdown in U.S. history after eight Democrats broke with their party and joined Republicans in a 60-40 vote. The measure now goes to the House, which could vote as early as tomorrow to pass the package and send it to President Donald Trump. The legislation includes a full funding of SNAP benefits through the end of September 2026 and keeps much of the government open through Jan. 30, 2026.
