And now, your moment of zen. Jon Stewart is returning to the hosting gig that made him a star ahead of the 2024 presidential election. Starting next month, Stewart will host "The Daily Show" on Monday nights through the election and then continue as the show's executive producer through 2025, Comedy Central announced. Stewart hosted the show from 1996 to 2015 and was succeeded by Trevor Noah, who left in 2022. Stewart's former "Daily Show" correspondent John Oliver reacted to the news in the middle of an interview with TODAY's Willie Geist. "I mean, that's, that is a surprise," the "Last Week Tonight" host said. On the days Stewart is not in the host's chair, a team of rotating correspondents will anchor the show. Continue reading. |

A little pick-me-up before you go. |
A Chicago sidewalk has become a total rathole, and people can't get enough. A rat-shaped hole in a Windy Cindy sidewalk in Roscoe Village has attracted thousands of visitors, including the Chicago Bulls' mascot and multiple news anchors, to the quirky landmark. One couple got engaged next to it, others built a shrine near it, and one couple had an actual wedding ceremony at the site. The rathole's days may be numbered, however, as local residents have complained about noise and vandalism. The hole was actually filled in with concrete last week, but onlookers dug it out. "We just wanted things to go back to normal," one neighbor told NBC News. "But sadly, I don't think that's going to happen at this point. It just got too big." |
