President Biden said yesterday that the U.S. "shall respond" after three U.S. servicemembers were killed and more than 30 injured in a drone attack on a base in Jordan, near the Syrian border. A drone packed with explosives made impact near a shelter where some troops were sleeping, according to two U.S. officials. They were the first U.S. deaths in months of attacks by Iran-backed militant groups since the Israel-Hamas war began. Iran denied it ordered the strike. Here's the latest. |

The San Francisco 49ers roared back from a 17-point deficit to beat the Detroit Lions 34-31 and earn a trip to Super Bowl 58 last night. It will be a familiar matchup, as the Niners will face Kansas City in the big game for the second time since 2020. The Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens 17-10 earlier in the day behind a huge game from Travis Kelce. The All-Pro tight end, who had 11 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown, celebrated with girlfriend Taylor Swift (above) after Kansas City earned its fourth trip to the Super Bowl in five seasons. The Chiefs will attempt to become the first team since the 2004 New England Patriots to repeat as Super Bowl champs. Continue reading. |

A little pick-me-up before you go. |
"If your car explodes, you won't survive. But your big dumb cup will." The Stanley cup obsession made its way to "Saturday Night Live" this weekend in a hilarious sketch featuring Heidi Gardner, Chloe Fineman and host Dakota Johnson. The three took turns making jokes about their giant mugs while repeating the refrain "big dumb cups." Fineman joked, "Mmm! You can really taste the bacteria!" while Gardner added, "I'm getting lead." The quip was a reference to the company refuting recent concerns over lead poisoning. Throughout the sketch, Johnson's mug kept getting larger until she had the biggest, dumbest cup. Watch the sketch here. |
