| Today's workout is a walk — we're on day 9 of our walking streak!
As a young child, trainer Stephanie Mansour suffered from severe back pain. She credits Pilates with finally helping her strengthen her core properly and alleviate chronic back pain. That's why today as a Pilates instructor, she encourages all of her clients to incorporate Pilates core exercises into their routine. Toe taps are one of her favorite (and easiest!) moves to try. To perform: - Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the ground.
- Exhale as you draw your naval in toward your spine, and slowly bring both knees up to a table-top position.
- Lower the right leg down to tap the toe on the ground while maintaining the engagement of the core. Exhale as you lower the leg down, and inhale to bring it back up.
- Repeat on the left leg. Continue alternating.

This recipe has all the flavor and comfort of traditional chicken piccata without all the fat and carbs. The dish is typically cooked in lots of butter, but this version slashes the butter to just one tablespoon, and replaces white flour with almond meal – a nutrient-rich, grain-free alternative. Enjoy it with roasted broccoli and baby potatoes. |

Should you run the AC when air quality is bad? |
Millions of Americans are facing poor air quality right now due to wildfire smoke, sparking concerns about the health effects. Experts say the most important thing you can do is stay indoors as much as possible, which may have you wondering: Is it safe to turn on your air conditioning?
The answer is yes — but only if it's recirculating inside air, which means that it's not pulling air in from the outdoors, says Dr. Roshini Rajapaksa. Many window units pull in air from outside into the home and do not have strong filtration systems, whereas centralized AC and AC units attached to walls tend not to pull in air from the outside and usually filter well the little bit that might get inside. How to keep indoor air safe when air quality is poor. |
