Chief Justice John Roberts released a statement confirming the authenticity of a leaked draft opinion published by Politico indicating there are enough votes on the court to overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade case. Roberts said any attempt to undermine the Supreme Court's operations "will not succeed" and that he has ordered the marshal of the court to launch an investigation to determine who leaked the document. Corrections officer and murder suspect who disappeared had 'special relationship' for years, police say.

Investigators at an Alabama jail confirmed there was a "special relationship" that included regular correspondence and visits after working hours between corrections officer Vicky White, 56, and inmate Casey White, 38, (no relation), who disappeared last week. Vicky White is wanted on a charge of facilitating or permitting the escape of Casey White. The case has drawn comparisons to one from 2015 in which a former prison seamstress helped two inmates escape from a facility in New York.

Amber Heard is expected to take the stand today in the fourth week of the defamation trial involving her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, who is suing her for $50 million over a Washington Post op-ed she wrote about being a survivor of sexual abuse. A man ran onstage and tackled the comedian in a scene caught on video last night during a performance at the Hollywood Bowl before security guards intervened. Police told NBC Los Angeles that the male suspect was armed with a replica gun that could eject a knife blade. Chappelle was not injured, and one showgoer told NBC News the comedian joked about the incident after continuing the show. Chappelle also said he has needed extra security due to a backlash over his jokes about the transgender community.

👩‍⚕️ Should a nurse go to prison for a medical mistake? A recent case sparks debate.

A former Tennessee nurse is set to be sentenced this week after being found guilty of criminally negligent homicide for mistakenly injecting a woman with the wrong medication in 2017. The woman died the next day. Nurses' groups are calling it "a dangerous precedent" for her mistake to be prosecuted as a crime rather than face administrative discipline like suspension or termination of her nursing license. Prosecutors hailed the verdict, saying the patient died of "gross neglect."
