Vicky White, 56, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound during a police chase, an Indiana coroner announced late yesterday. White and escaped inmate Casey White were fleeing authorities who had been hunting for them for 11 days and had been hiding out in an Indian motel for a week. Investigators found multiple weapons in the car, along with several wigs and $29,000 in cash. Casey White told authorities after his arrest that the couple had planned a shootout with police "at the stake of both of them losing their lives."

Pediatric oncology nurse Cassie DeMatteis became an "angel on Earth" to Rocco DiMaggio and his family after Rocco had to be treated at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York for stage 4 neuroblastoma in 2020 at just 2 years old. DeMatteis was there to hold him through five rounds of chemotherapy, two major surgeries and the removal of a kidney. Rocco is now a happy, healthy 4-year-old who recently reunited with his favorite nurse. You can watch the video here. "To watch him grow up and to know we'll be close from now until forever, too, it's amazing," DeMatteis told Hoda. |
