The family of junior Sarah Shulze, a runner on Wisconsin's track and field and cross country teams, shared the heartbreaking news that she died from suicide at 21. The scholarship runner was also a member of the student athlete council and a former intern at the Wisconsin state legislature. "Balancing athletics, academics and the demands of every day life overwhelmed her in a single, desperate moment," her family wrote. Her death comes a month after Stanford star soccer player Katie Meyer died by suicide. |

The CDC has issued a health advisory after a cluster of nine cases of severe hepatitis, an inflammation of the liver, were found in children in Alabama. Dozens of other cases have been reported in Europe as well as two in North Carolina. The CDC warns of a possible association between hepatitis and a virus that causes cold-like symptoms. A Chihuahua from Florida named TobyKeith is old enough to celebrate his birthday with a cocktail after becoming the world's oldest living dog, according to Guinness World Records. The lovable pooch named after the country music star is now 21 years and 106 days old — the average age of a Chihuahua is 12 to 18 years — and he loves to start his day with a slice of turkey and a walk at 6:30 a.m. The oldest dog ever recorded was an Australian cattle-dog named Bluey who lived to 29 back in the 1930s, according to Guinness. |
