It may surprise you to learn that certain foods and nutrients can help improve your chances of getting pregnant (and there are foods that may interfere with fertility, like some kinds of fish that contain mercury). Not only will they ensure that your body has everything it needs for a healthy pregnancy, but they're also packed with nutrients like valuable folic acid and zinc, which can help boost fertility.

When it comes to getting pregnant, you might want to tone down your weekly workout. Moderate—not vigorous—exercise could be the smartest way to go when you're trying to conceive. Here's why: Heavy-duty workouts rustle up a lot of adrenaline, which can be interpreted by the body as stress. Since Mother Nature reacts to stress by going into defense mode, your ovulation could be disrupted. What's more, exercising too much can result in a decrease in body fat, which can disrupt the flow of hormones and suppress ovulation. Some women who exercise vigorously may start to notice missed cycles.
